Actor Profile: Anna Kendrick

Pretty, and in a movie with
George Clooney. Swooning galore.
Personal Life
Kendrick was born on August 9, 1985 in Portland, Maine. She was driven to acting as a child by her high energy level and outgoing personality, initially focusing on theater. Most of her life was relatively “normal”; she was an honors student at Deering High School, and a fair amount of stage acting eventually led her to the big screen.
Filmography
2003 – Camp (Fritzi Wagner)

2009 – The Twilight Saga: New Moon (Jessica Stanley)
2009 – Up in the Air (Natalie Keener)
2010 – The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (Jessica Stanley)
2010 – Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (Stacey Pilgrim)
2010 – Live With It (Katie)

Critical Reception
Anna’s first big breakthrough was on stage in 1998 as Dinah Lord in the musical High Society. She won an award, and was nominated for 2 more, including a Tony; Kendrick was the 2nd youngest nomination ever. Her first 6 movies gave her 6 nominations as a supporting actress, but Up in the Air sent her career to unprecedented levels. Kendrick earned 34 nominations (3 ensemble, 31 individual), and won 8 (all individual). Fans and critics alike hailed her incredible performance as Natalie Keener.

The Future
In addition to the final 2 installments of The Twilight Saga, Kendrick has a supporting role in the about to be released comic book film, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. She also finished filming the movie Live With It at the end of March 2010, co-starring with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Seth Rogen. The latter could conceivably be another major success for her career, but I don’t think Scott Pilgrim will do much for it, regardless of how entertaining it may be. Kendrick should have a long, quality career ahead of her. For now, let's just hold our breaths and wait for Twilight to be over.

  1. I truly believe (even though I LOVE George Clooney) that Kendrick made Up in the Air the fantastic movie it was.

And I lol'ed at the Twilight comment at the end, but you know she's raking in the money for that movie, and I wouldn't leave it either.
